Our Policies

Appointments

All appointments booked at Seymour Health Centre Ltd. are booked through each individual station. Please call your station directly, and advise our staff of the reason for your visit so that we may book the appropriate amount of time for you. 

Our physicians are only able to address 2 problems per visit.
If you have multiple complaints you will be asked to book another appointment.

Walk-in Clinic

Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm. Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm.
Our Walk-in Clinic is staffed daily by one of our Doctor’s. They have complete access to your computerized medical records. Please be advised that due to unforeseen emergencies the Walk-in Clinic may be cancelled without notice.

Cancellations and Appointment No-Shows 

We require 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment, however, in the event of an unforeseen emergency this may be waived. There are many other patients waiting for appointments and failure to cancel will result in a missed appointment charge.

Lab Results

Our Clinic policy is not to provide Lab results over the telephone. Please make an appointment with your physician to discuss lab results. You will only be contacted by our office to come in for an appointment if your lab results were abnormal. 

Our staff are unable to interpret lab results and will not comment when asked. Please also understand that it can take up to 10 days for our office to receive results back from various lab/hospitals. 

Prescription Refills

No prescription refills will be given over the phone. Please make an appointment with your physician. Certain medications require monitoring and it is up to your physician to decide when you need to be seen for a refill.

Medical Certificates

Doctor's notes cannot be requested over the phone. You must make an appointment to see your physician.

Parking

Pay parking on the street is available directly in front of our office. An Impark lot is also located underneath our building. Please do not ask the staff questions about the parking lot as it is run by Impark and not Seymour Health Centre Ltd. Our staff are unable to help with parking disputes.

Our Nursing staff provides excellent care and are able to perform the following:
• Extensive wound care
• Minor surgical procedures
• Immunizations
• IV Infusions

Travel Medicine Clinic

We are pleased to announce that we will be opening our Travel Medicine Clinic in May of 2010. We will be able to offer a full range of Travel Medicine. Please call our main clinic line 604-738-2151 for more details.

Transfer of Medical Records

Please be advised that there is a charge to transfer your medical records. We follow the BCMA Non-MSP fee schedule which is as follows:

- Transfer of Medical Records (excludes photocopying and/or courier fees) $35.00

- Photocopying fee (first 10 pages/per page) $1.62

- Photocopying fee (each subsequent page) $0.34

If you have been a patient of the clinic for a long time these charges can be significant and you are responsible for paying them.
