Dr. Andrew Eisen, Neurology

Dr. Andrew Eisen is presently Professor Emeritus, NEUROLOGY at the University of British Columbia doing post-retirement clinical work at the Seymour Health Centre. He is a graduate of the University of Leeds in England (1959). He completed his Residency in Neurology at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University and obtained the FRCPC in 1968. He was on the Staff of the Montreal Neurological and McGill from 1968-1980 first as an Assistant and then Associate Professor of Neurology. He moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1980 as Professor of Neurology. During his time at UBC, he developed the Neuromuscular Diseases Program and started a Provincial ALS Centre. Dr Eisen was Associate Dean of Research, University of British Columbia from 1985-1989 and Head of the Department of Medicine UBC from 1989 to 1994. He was Head of Neurology from 1995 until 2000. Dr. Eisen is interested in all aspects of Neurology and is happy to accommodate all types of Neurological referral.

Dr. Urve Kuusk, Genral Surgery

Dr Urve Kuusk has been practicing general surgery in Vancouver BC since 1984. Her practice is heavily weighted toward the surgical treatment of breast cancer, and she is considered to be one of the top experts in this field. Besides numerous academic publications, she is a co-author of the widely acclaimed Intelligent Patient's Guide to Breast Cancer. This publication (now in its fourth edition) is distributed across Canada by the Canadian Cancer Agency as a patient reference. Her current office location is at the Seymour Health Centre on West 7th, and she has admitting privileges to a variety of Vancouver hospitals, the main site at this time being Mount St Joseph's.

Dr. Scott Russell, Podiatry

Dr. Russell graduated from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in 1979. He completed the Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Medical School Podiatry Residency in 1980.  He spent six years on the staff of St. Francis Medical Center Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Princeton University Medical Center in the State of New Jersey.  Dr. Russell returned to practice in Vancouver in 1986 and was on staff at Shaughnessy Hospital for five years.  He has practiced with the Seymour Clinic for approximately sixteen years.  His practice is General Podiatry and includes Ambulatory Foot Surgery, Diabetic and Geriatric Foot Care, and Orthotic for Biomechanical problems and Sports.  Dr. Russell is licensed in Alberta, BC, Vermont, and Washington State.

Dr. Marsha Santerre, Family Medicine

Dr. Marsha Santerre has been with the Seymour Clinic since 2006. She has a busy and fulfilling full service family practice but also works regularly in Vancouver's downtown eastside practicing innercity and addiction medicine. Starting in the summer of 2010, she will be providing part time travel medicine consultations at the Seymour Clinic. Originally from Northwestern Ontario, she moved to Vancouver to nurture her passion in outdoor adventure. Her passions include international travel, rock climbing, tennis, backcountry camping, kayaking, hiking, skiing and photography.

Dr. Ashleigh Stelzer-Chilton, Family Medicine

Dr. Stelzer-Chilton joined the Seymour Health Centre in 2008. She was born in Zimbabwe, and immigrated to Toronto in the early 1980s. She studied in Canada and France, and worked in France, Germany, South Africa and in USA. She became interested in medicine after working with orphans with HIV in Cape Town. She did her medical school at McMaster, and residency at UofT at which time she did some brief work in Tanzania and Uganda. She worked in a walk-in-clinic in Toronto for several years before moving to Vancouver in 2008. She's married with two children. Her main interests include travel, camping and interior design.

Dr. Hugo Sutton, Ophthalmology

Hugo Sutton MD,FRCSC, graduated from Westminster Hospital UK in 1970,worked for 2 years in Grande Cache AB as a Family Doctor, before training in Ophthalmology at UBC. He remains a Clinical Associate Professor in the Dept Ophthalmology UBC as well as working as chief surgeon at accredited clinics, Iris Ophthalmology, Langley BC [www.iris.ca] and Altavisionplus clinic, Fort McMurray AB [www.altavisionplus.com]. The Seymour Health Centre Ophthalmology service provides urgent and routine Ophthalmology care, with diagnostic retinal imaging, minor Ophthalmic and lid surgery with short wait times for all consultations.

Dr. David Young, Family Medicine

Dr. David Young Graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1972 and practiced in Winnipeg for 25 years prior to moving to BC. He has done Locum work in Rural BC, Alberta, Ontario, Africa, New Zealand, Australia and the Canadian Arctic. He spends the summers working in the Emergency Room in NW Ontario. One of his passions is cycling.
